Spectrum Perspectives
Spectrum Perspectives is a safe space for parents, families, and anyone touched by Autism and special needs. Hosted by Cindy Gelormini, a mom who’s walked this journey herself, the podcast shares real conversations with parents, adults on the Spectrum, professionals, and advocates who understand both the challenges and the beauty of living life on the Spectrum.
Cindy isn’t afraid to ask the hard questions and open the door to topics that parents often wrestle with quietly—things like ABA therapy, bullying, vaccine injury, abuse, and new ways of communication such as Spelling to Communicate. As the show grows, so does the conversation—Season 4 explores spiritual insights, including telepathy and the hidden gifts that many families are just beginning to discover.
If you listen with an open mind and a tender heart, you may find comfort, hope, and maybe even a brand-new perspective on what it means to love someone on the Spectrum.

Dr. Torres leads the Sensory Motor Integration Lab at Rutgers University. Originally starting with robotics studying motor control in athletes, she moved on to working with autistic individuals studying their execution of movement, vestibular and proprioception. She says most times they have an almost 2 second delay in sensory processing, but we need to presume competence and give them time to perform a task. She has monitored their dysregulation and found that most of the time they are in fight or flight mode and have symptoms of someone with chronic pain. Her work helps them to become regulated so they can Spell to Communicate and the goal is to help them become independent. You can view the video version on Robbie's World channel on YouTube.

Between 30-40% of people with autism spectrum disorder are non-speaking or minimally speaking, meaning they don't speak at all or speak fewer than 30 words. Spelling to Communicate (S2C) is a revolutionary method that teaches non-speaking people to communicate using a stencil board helping them to finally find their voice. In this episode you'll meet Elizabeth Vosseller, aka "EV", the founder of S2C. She discusses the difference between being "non-speaking", "minimally speaking" and "unreliably speaking", and how the reason many cannot speak is due to "Apraxia" which is a motor planning issue, not a cognitive issue. She discussed the 4 pillars of her foundation I-ASC, the International Association for Spelling as Communication, which are: 1) Training 2) Education 3) Advocacy and 4) Research, which will help bring S2C to the main stream making it available to be taught in schools.
